OMG time, where have you gone?
A combination of working stupid hours, being I'll and failing at life, the universe and everything has brought my Merlining to a standstill :(

With luck, I should have some time to actually sit down and relax tomorrow, so watching and reviewing episodes 2 & 3 of the new series has been tentatively pencilled in for then.

Genuinely can't believe it's October already!
Hope you're all doing well and not running mentally out of time like me :)

OMG NEW MERLIN! So worth the wait :D

More random gibberish under the cut :P Enjoy!

MERLIN REVIEW! )

Great first episode, brought all the characters back into play (fairly) seamlessly, with enough drama and hinted future!plot to keep both casual viewers and diehard fans interested throughout XD

My planned Merlining for tonight is being cruelly interrupted... a close family friend has his 50th birthday party tonight - starting at 6! The anticipated return to Merlin (and the fandom) has been scuppered.

I am so thankful for a) Sky+ and b) iPlayer right now.

My Merlining will have to wait until tomorrow :( Have fun without me!

I don't know how many of you on my flist have heard of or used BookCrossing.com, but essentially it's a way for authors to get their books out there and read. The idea is that if you come across a book with a BookCrossing stamp in it, you visit the website after reading it, enter the code found with the stamp and leave a review both at BookCrossing.com and at Amazon. After you've reviewed it, you leave it in a public place or send it to someone else, so that it becomes a 'travelling book' and therefore gains more exposure.

I've recently done this for a book called 'Bottle' by D.M. Samson, which is classified as urban literature but has deeper themes running through it (namely grief, bereavement and personal development, in this case). My review can be found at amazon.co.uk and bookcrossing.com, and the time has come to send the book on its way. I'd rather pass it to somebody likely to participate in the scheme than just leave it at, say, a doctor's surgery, so I wondered if anyone on my flist might be interested?

If so, let me know in the comments section and leave your address and I'll send the book on to you. Comments to this entry are screened, so don't worry about others seeing your details. Thanks for helping :)

Wow, it's been ages since I was last on LJ (again!)

New Merlin, however, is proving something of an incentive... oh, yes, that was NEW MERLIN!
Series 2 begins on Saturday 19th September 2009 at 6:40pm on BBC1 here in the UK =D I am beyond excited!

We're told that

Spoilers )

Weekly reviews will, of course, resume, as will fanfiction... I seem to have dropped out of the fandom somewhat, but hopefully the new series will help me crowbar my way back in :P

Once again, I feel I should apologise for being utterly rubbish in terms of LJ-friendship. Sorry, guys!

Life-wise, I'm now working part time at a local Tesco Express store and should be starting Saturdays at the local museum soonish, but still searching for something degree-related and a bit more permanent. Everyone on the flist doing well?

Miss you!

Hi *blinks at the sunlight* Wow, I've been gone a long time... hope you're all doing well. I'm doing ok, been jobhunting mainly, with no luck so far sadly. Still, patience is a virtue...
I've also graduated with a 2:1 BSc in Psychology and Counselling, which is great :)

13th-May-2009 11:22 pm - HAI, STILL ALIVE
Alan Davies - Headdesk

Life has been stupidly busy lately. Most of you know I'm just finishing my 3rd and final year of uni, so dissertationing has taken over my life. Add exams and various other assignments on top of that, and I become another example of LJ fail :P

Basically, this post is to reassure everyone that I am still alive and to apologise profusely for my lack of communicative skills. I will be a better LJ friend in future, I promise.

Everyone else ok?

Edit: I completed the 5km Race For Life with my sister and my nan on Sunday 10th May. Thanks to everyone who donated and/or offered support, it really means a lot and I appreciate it. The race was in aid of Cancer Research UK (and if that isn't enough, I did it on a busted knee!) and any further donations will always be welcome - www.justgiving.com/jenniferogorman
Thank you!

I'm doing the Race For Life in Aylesbury on May 10th 2009 and would really love support. I've got a donation page at http://www.justgiving.com/jenniferogorman and all donations received will go to Cancer Research UK. Please help me support this amazing cause.

Thank you.

Does anyone want 4 free tickets to the Justin Lee Collins show on Tuesday? The recording takes place in the London Television Studios, Upper Ground, Waterloo. I've been sent the tickets, but can't make it, so if anyone wants them (you don't have to use all 4 tickets), let me know & I'll send them on.
18+ only, I'm afraid.
